MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Colleagues,
The World Association for Dynamic Psychiatry (WADP) was founded in 1981. Its current HQ is in Berlin. More information at: WADP International. The 20th World Congress held at Marrakech, Morocco on April 16–20, 2024 formally approved WADP India Chapter as a member society.
WADP India has 136 founding members. The WADP India Chapter officially came into existence when our Statutes were approved by the 1st General Assembly held at Nagpur on 12th April 2025. This was during our 1st National Conference ably organised by Dr Vivek Kirpekar and team on 12th and 13th April, 2025. Our 2nd National Conference was held at AIIMS, Raipur, 24–26 April, 2026 successfully organised by Dr Ajay Kumar and his team. We are officially registered at Bhopal on 23.4.2026. Let me congratulate our Secretary General Dr Snehil Gupta for his committed work for this. Also please visit our website WADP India.
I have great pleasure to welcome you all to our 3rd National Conference at Srinagar, April 30 – May 2, 2027. The theme of the conference is “Dynamic Psychiatry in Consultation-Liaison Practice”. Additionally, on the concluding day, we will hold a concurrent workshop titled “Dynamic Psychiatry: Training the Trainers.” We assure you of a rich scientific programme and excellent hospitality. An organising team led by Dr Javid Shiekh and his committed team is working hard to receive you and to make the event a grand success.

MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL
It gives me immense pleasure to extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the organising committee of the 3rd Annual Conference of the World Association for Dynamic Psychiatry (WADP) India Chapter, being organised on the theme “Dynamic Psychiatry in Consultation-Liaison Practice” coupled with a workshop on “Dynamic Psychiatry: Training the Trainers” in Kashmir – Heaven on Earth.
The theme of this conference is both timely and highly relevant. Consultation-liaison (CL) psychiatry offers a unique opportunity to understand individuals within the complexity of their physical and mental health issues, psychological conflicts, interpersonal context, and coping styles. The principles of dynamic psychiatry can play a vital role in enriching the assessment and management of individuals receiving services through CL psychiatry, by helping clinicians look beyond symptoms and diagnoses to appreciate the deeper emotional and relational dimensions that influence distress, recovery, treatment adherence, and healing.
Similarly, the workshop would be worthwhile in sensitising and equipping young psychiatry educators and clinicians with the conceptual foundations, clinical sensitivity, and teaching skills required to integrate dynamic psychiatry into contemporary psychiatric practice and training. I am confident that this workshop will inspire meaningful learning and strengthen the next generation of psychiatry teachers and practitioners.
On behalf of the WADP India Chapter, I warmly congratulate the local organising team for their vision, commitment, and efforts in conducting this important academic event. I also extend my warm greetings to the delegates, including mental health professionals and trainees who would be attending the congress.

It gives us immense pleasure to welcome psychiatrists, mental health professionals, academicians, researchers, and trainees from across India and around the world to the 3rd Annual National Conference of the WADP India Chapter, to be held from 30 April to 2 May 2027.
The conference is being organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Psychiatric Society (JKPS) in association with the World Association for Dynamic Psychiatry (WADP), Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), and World Association of Social Psychiatry (WASP).
The conference will focus on the theme “Dynamic Psychiatry in Consultation-Liaison Practice,” bringing together diverse perspectives on the evolving role of dynamic psychiatry in contemporary clinical practice.
The conference aims to provide a stimulating academic platform for clinicians, academicians, researchers, and trainees to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions. With participation from across India and other countries, the scientific programme will feature expert-led sessions, thought-provoking discussions, interactive academic engagements, and opportunities for professional exchange and collaboration.
A concurrent workshop on the concluding day, titled “Dynamic Psychiatry: Training the Trainers,” will further provide an opportunity for focused learning and exploration of approaches to teaching and training in dynamic psychiatry.
